Colorado’s Greenback Cutthroat Trout
Once thought to be extinct, Colorado's famed greenback cutthroat trout is now in the process of making a remarkable comeback. Listen in to hear how Jim Rubingh and Richard Fritz explored Colorado in search of the greenback cutthroat, where they found them and the best strategies for putting one on your prized catch list.

Beginning in the late 1980’s he has been actively pursuing the greenback cutthroat along Colorado’s Front Range.

Jim served on Colorado’s Fish Health and Aquaculture boards for many years and has been a member of Trout Unlimited for 25 plus years. He has also been a volunteer with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service for several years working on the Greenback Cutthroat project in Rocky Mountain National Park. Jim with coauthor Richard Fritz published “Colorado Greenback Cutthroat: A Fisherman’s Guide” in 2009.

Jim and his wife have grown children and live in Wheat Ridge, CO.
