Fly Fishing Alberta's Famous Bow River
with Jim McLennan

Learn from famed angler Jim McLennan, one of the first guides on the Bow and Editor At Large for Fly Fisherman magazine, what makes this river tick. He literally wrote the book - "Blue Ribbon Bow"- on the river which has served as a resource for many in successfully dealing with the complexities of this famed stream.

Jim gave a great local fisherman feel for the Bow, and part on how to approach fishing a big river was good. I missed info on other nearby streams, since the nonlocal would like to see area west of Calgary.

I have fished all over Canada and the north western USA and have known Jim personally for 25 - 30 years. I have listened to a lot of fishing people over 50 years plus. Jim is the most easily understood and interesting presenter as well as one of the most knowledgeable I have heard. Thank you.

I thoroughly enjoyed your show, as I do all your shows related to trout fishing on your program. I find them highly entertaining and informational . I have to say my wife and I were big fans of Jim's and his wife's show. I still wish it was on and would love to puchase a copy of his old shows if they are available somewhere, as the vcr tape we copied of the show have since worn out and we now have DVD only. I would like to applaud his support of the TU chapter in his area as well. I am the Presidant of the Neversink chapter in NY at this time and thank him whole heartedly. I hope you enjoyed the show as much as I did and look forward to making a trip up there one day soon. Please tell Jim I loved his program tonight and one day give a good German Shorthair a chance in the field and maybe he'll have a different opinion but I don't mind his point of view as the English Setter is a fine dog in the field. Tight lines to you all and thanks for answering my questions on the show. Bravo on another great show and I look forward to the next .

Jim McLennan is extremely knowlegable about the Bow River. I have visited the river but never fished it. After listening to the broadcast, I will put it on my wish list. A pleasure to listen to.

Three in a row! I am enjoying listening to these programs very much. They are not only entertaining to a fly fisherman but informative as well. The North Platte River is near my home and I have been lucky in catching some large trout. Been up near the Bow River but didn't get a chance to fish it. Elk River was great - 100 miles southwest of Calgary. You should do a show on it. The Old Man, mentioned in this show, is good fishing, spectacular scenery but the Elk and Fording are some of the best I have fished. Not to mention Bull Trout. Thank you for the shows. I intend to keep listening, over and over.

Just finished listening to last week's show on the Bow River. Man! What a tremendously informative program. You can bet I'll be pulling it out and listening to it again, then contacting Jim, when I finally get a chance to float the Bow. You guys are doing a great job. Thanks and God Bless.

I thoroughly enjoyed your internet radio broadcast featuring Jim McLennan. Jim's extensive fly fishing knowledge, and colorful character, truly make him a treasured icon in central Alberta. I look forward to your next shows with Jim discussing other great Alberta fisheries or any other related topics. Keep up the great work gentlemen!
