A Systematic Approach to Nymphing
Duane Redford developed a systematic approach to nymphing so that as a guide he could hook his clients up with fish even in the most harsh and competitive environments. Learn his step-by-step methods for getting the most out of nymphing.
Trout - Hidden in Plain View
Duane Redford will delves into what the top 10% of anglers are seeing and doing differently from the fly fishing masses, and how they are consistently putting fish in the net in every situation. Join us and learn from a master angler how to increase your odds of catching more trout.

His first book on fly fishing, The Fly Fisher’s Playbook, A Systematic Approach to Nymphing, first and second editions, was nearly five years in the making, and born of necessity from guiding finicky western tailwaters. It delves into the cause-effect, if/then approach to nymphing, and how to systematically approach the river to improve your nymphing skills. It covers everything from reading the river, trout, and insect lif,e to “reverse engineering” your fly fishing approach.

His latest book, Hidden in Plain View-Recognizing the Obvious, Exploiting the Obscure in Fly Fishing, represents a culmination of hundreds of hours on the river, observing and documenting insect, ?sh, and angler behaviors. It includes something for every level of angler from reading the obvious runs of the river to its subtle nuances; bug selection made simple, how to rig to attain a lively drift, recognizing and exploiting the X-Y-Z grids in a river run, tactics to get better now, and how to implement the Fly Fishers’ Formula while you locate and effectively ?sh your “quarter mile” of river.

Both books are comfortable reads, which are conversational with plenty of illustrations and pictures. You’ll feel as if you’re having a conversation with Duane, while standing on a river, bank as you read them.

When he’s not guiding, Duane spends his time teaching fly fishing classes, speaking, tying flies, and blogging, or filming. When he’s not teaching, filming or guiding, you’ll find him on the river. He is married to Janet, has two children, Allie and Parker, and five wonderful grandkids.

To order Duane’s book visit Amazon, Barnes and Noble or Koehler Books.
